The variety charity will be proudly displayed on
the sleeve of the clubs premier team and in the
interests of community collections for this
worth while charity will be welcomed by all
visiting teams and supporters. Sponsorships are
harder and harder to find and while we welcome
sponsors and are grateful for their continued
support. We trust they will also be proud to sit
along side variety this year as we contest a new
league and celebrate our clubs’ 50th year of
football in the Franklin, Counties and Auckland
Region. Variety - The Children's Charity is the
fun way to help Kiwi kids. Since 1989, Variety
has distributed more than $11.3 million to Kiwi
kids in need. Using unique and entertaining
events to raise funds, Variety provides support
to New Zealand children who are sick, disabled
or disadvantaged through a range of programmes
and individual grants.
Variety works with communities
all over New Zealand to 'fill the gaps' for Kiwi
kids, because Variety believes every child
deserves the opportunity to achieve their
potential - to be the best they can be.
Join the
fun of the Variety Bash as it comes to a town
near you!
The Bash is Variety’s
signature fundraising event and involves a
convoy of quirky, older vehicles and volunteer
‘Bashers’ travelling the countryside raising and
distributing funds to Kiwi kids.
Visiting schools and
communities, the Bash aims to bring its own
brand of sunshine and fun to Kiwi kids with
celebrities, personalities, magicians,
volunteers and entertainers.
A convoy of over 50 quirky
vehicles and 250 “Bashers” will start their
journey in Christchurch on March 7 before making
their way to Auckland during the week-long Bash
– they will travel to Hanmer Springs, Westport,
Nelson, Farewell Spit, Takaka, Marlborough
Sounds, Blenheim, Picton, Wellington, Masterton,
Palmerston North, Wanganui, Tongariro, Cambridge
and Auckland.
Auckland - Spend the afternoon
at MOTAT and catch a glimpse of the end of the
20th annual Variety Bash as it arrives from 4.30
– there will be celebrities, giveaways and lots
of fun!
If you can’t make it to MOTAT,
give us a friendly wave from the overpass
bridges as we travel on the Southern Motorway
from 4.00pm
If you can’t join us, you can
still help make the 2010 Variety Bash a success.
